About Joe McVicker

Joe McVickerJoe McVicker is a software architect with a career-long focus on simplifying customer-facing solutions. Over his 25+ years in the industry, he has designed and delivered systems for the Wall Street Journal and Lipper Analytical (now Reuters), Frito-Lay, the United Nations, Target Stores, and numerous other enterprises.  In 2001, Mr. McVicker founded GroveSite, an on-line web collaboration portal that continues to serve hundreds of organizations globally.  In 2006 he founded Altvia Solutions (formerly Application Experts) to deliver highly customized front-office capabilities to private equity fund managers using Salesforce.com.

More recently Joe co-founded and launched two businesses using Google App Engine, Cloud SQL, Django and Python: PowerWeek was on-line community for home based entrepreneurs, and Hospital IQ is dramatically improving resource utilization and scheduling for hospitals.

Right now, Joe is focused on providing services around Salesforce.com. The platform has really improved the level of polish for sales and marketing activities. He is currently employed with Torrent Consulting as a Technical Architect focusing on Healthcare and Life Sciences.

Mr. McVicker holds an MBA in International Business from Thunderbird and a BA in Economics from Middlebury College.  His technical certifications include Salesforce.com Application Architect (9x) along with numerous retired Microsoft certs.
